(UPDATE, 9 a.m. Friday): Three former South Carolina football players — A.J. Cann, Mike Davis and Bruce Ellington — have signed new contracts with NFL teams.
Cann (2011-14) resigned with the Jacksonville Jaguars for three years, $15 million. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound right guard and the Jaguars finished the regular-season ranked 19th in the NFL in rushing offense (107.7 yards per game).
Davis (2012-15) signed a two-year, $7 million deal with the Chicago Bears, it was first reported by the NFL Network on Monday.
With the Seattle Seahawks this past season, the running back had 514 yards on 112 carries and four touchdowns, all career highs. He also had 36 catches for 234 yards and one touchdown. His season highlights included a 101-yard, two-touchdown performance in a Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Ellington signed a one-year, $895 thousand deal with the New England Patriots.
Ellington, who played four games for the Detroit Lions and three games for the Houston Texas, finished his season with 31 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown. On Dec. 22 he was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring strain.
