Hayden Hurst

What a week for South Carolina tight end products in the NFL. 

Hayden Hurst played 47 percent of the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive snaps had three catches for 73 yards and a touchdown (from 61 yards), his first score since the second week of the season. The Ravens won 24-17 at 9-4 Buffalo. 

Though Jared Cook, with the Saints, had two catches for 64 yards and played just eight plays before leaving to get tested for a concussion, both went for touchdowns.

Other than the two tight ends, it was a solid week for Gamecocks in the NFL. 

Here’s a rundown on how they did:

Zack Bailey (2015-18), Tampa Bay Buccaneers OL: Bailey was placed on injured reserve Oct. 12 because of a foot/ankle injury he suffered in practice. Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians on Nov. 15 announced Bailey will not return this season. 

Damiere Byrd (2011-14), Arizona Cardinals WR: Byrd had one catch (one target) for 10 yards and played 43 percent of Arizona’s offensive plays, up six percent from last week. He has 18 catches, the most he has ever had in a season, for 188 yards.

A.J. Cann (2011-14), Jacksonville Jaguars G: Cann started his 13th game this season and played 82 percent of Jacksonville’s offensive snaps. The Jaguars ran for 88 yards.

Jadeveon Clowney (2011-13), Seattle Seahawks DE: Clowney had two tackles. This season he has three sacks, one interception (which he returned for a touchdown), three passes defended, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 30 tackles and 13 QB hits. Clowney has an ongoing core muscle injury, and it remains to be seen if he will play the Panthers in Week 15. 

Jared Cook (2006-08), New Orleans Saints TE: Cook had two catches (two targets) for 64 yards and two touchdowns in the eight plays he played before leaving the game to get tested for a concussion. It is unknown if he will be cleared for Week 15 versus the Colts. He has 34 catches for 523 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Dennis Daley (2017-18), Carolina Panthers G: Daley started and played all of Carolina’s offensive snaps. The Panthers ran for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Mike Davis (2012-15), Carolina Panthers RB: Davis was active and played 17 snaps (all on special teams). He had 11 carries for 25 yards and seven catches for 22 yards this season for the Bears before being released.

Patrick DiMarco (2007-10), Buffalo Bills FB: DiMarco was active but played just 14 plays (12 on special teams). He has five catches for 40 yards and three rushes for seven yards this season.

Rashad Fenton (2015-18), Kansas City Chiefs CB: A week after he had the first forced fumble of his career, Fenton sat out with a hamstring injury. It is unknown if he will play against the Broncos during Week 15. He has the forced fumble, one interception, 12 tackles, three passes defended and a quarterback hit this season.

Stephon Gilmore (2009-11), New England Patriots CB: Gilmore had five tackles, a pass defended and a fumble recovery. He has four interceptions (one he returned 54 yards for a touchdown), 14 passes defended and 42 tackles this season.

Hayden Hurst (2015-17), Baltimore Ravens TE: Hurst had three catches for 73 yards and a touchdown (from 61 yards) and played 47 percent of Baltimore’s offensive snaps. Garnet Thor has 26 catches for 286 yards and two touchdowns this season. 

Melvin Ingram (2009-11), Los Angeles Chargers OLB: Ingram had five tackles. Ingram has 4.5 sacks, 32 tackles, seven quarterback hits and a fumble recovery this season.

Alshon Jeffery (2009-11), Philadelphia Eagles WR: Jeffery, who sat out two games earlier this season with a left ankle injury, had no catches before exiting with another left foot injury. He has 43 catches for 490 yards and four touchdowns and one rushing touchdown this season.

Johnathan Joseph (2005), Houston Texans CB: Joseph had four tackles. He has started nine games this season and has 49 tackles and 11 passes defended. 

Chris Lammons (2014-17), Miami Dolphins DB: A week after Lammons had a game-clinching interception, Miami waived the defensive back. He had the interception, 10 tackles and three passes defended this season. 

Skai Moore (2013-17), Indianapolis Colts LB: Moore had three tackles during the preseason for the Colts and was kept on the team’s practice squad.

Keisean Nixon (2017-18), Oakland Raiders DB: Nixon was active and played 17 special teams snaps. He has two tackles this season.

Deebo Samuel (2015-18), San Francisco 49ers WR: Samuel had five catches for 76 yards. He also had two rushes for 33 yards. He has 47 catches for 640 yards and three touchdowns this season. He also has eight rushes for 90 yards and a touchdown. 

Brandon Shell (2012-15), New York Jets OT: Shell started and play all of New York’s offensive snaps. The Jets ran for 112 yards. 

Taylor Stallworth (2014-17), New Orleans Saints DT: Stallworth was waived by the Saints during week five but re-signed to the team’s practice squad a few days later.

D.J. Swearinger (2009-12), Oakland Raiders S: Swearinger had six tackles and played 82 percent of Oakland’s defensive snaps but was released by the team on Tuesday. He has 48 tackles, two passes defended and a quarterback hit this season.

Darian Stewart (2006-09), Tampa Bay Buccaneers S: Stewart was active but played just 10 plays, all on special teams. He has five tackles this season.
