The list of South Carolina football alumni on NFL rosters grew by two this week.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, it was announced free agent D.J. Swearinger signed with the Oakland Raiders. Mike Davis was waived by the Chicago Bears at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, but on Monday night signed with the Carolina Panthers.

Both Swearinger, who played the first four games this season with the Arizona Cardinals, and Davis, who played seven games for Chicago, did not play this past weekend. 

But other Gamecocks did, including Deebo Samuel and Jadeveon Clowney, who each had career days, Jared Cook and Melvin Ingram. 

Here’s a rundown of how the Gamecocks did this week: 

Zack Bailey (2015-18), Tampa Bay Buccaneers OL: Bailey was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 12 because of a foot/ankle injury he suffered in practice. It was reported by Eduardo Encina of the Tampa Bay Times that Bailey broke his foot. 

Damiere Byrd (2011-14), Arizona Cardinals WR: Byrd was inactive for the second consecutive week. He has 17 catches, the most he has ever had in a season, for 178 yards this season. 

A.J. Cann (2011-14), Jacksonville Jaguars G: Jacksonville had a bye week. Cann has started at right guard every week this season but split time with Will Richardson Jr. The Jaguars average almost 130 rushing yards per game this season, ninth best in the NFL. 

Jadeveon Clowney (2011-13), Seattle Seahawks DE: Clowney had a sack, forced fumble, touchdown, five solo tackles, a career-high five quarterback hits This season he has three sacks, one interception, three passes defended, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 25 tackles and 12 quarterback hits.

Jared Cook (2006-08), New Orleans Saints TE: After missing three weeks with a hamstring injury, Cook had six catches for 74 yards, both season highs. He has 21 catches for 242 yards this season.

Dennis Daley (2017-18), Carolina Panthers G: Daley started for the fourth time this season, at left tackle, but played only 60 percent of Carolina’s offensive snaps before exiting with a groin injury. The Panthers ran for 120 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.

Mike Davis (2012-15), Carolina Panthers RB: Davis had 11 carries for 25 yards and seven catches for 22 yards this season for the Bears before being released by the team this week. He was signed a few days later by the Panthers. 

Patrick DiMarco (2007-10), Buffalo Bills FB: DiMarco had one catch (two targets) for two yards and one rush for two yards. He has five catches for 40 yards and three rushes for seven yards this season.

Rashad Fenton (2015-18), Kansas City Chiefs CB: Fenton had two tackles his first-career quarterback hit. He has nine tackles, a pass defended and a quarterback hit this season.

Stephon Gilmore (2009-11), New England Patriots CB: New England had a bye week. Gilmore has three interceptions (one he returned 54 yards for a touchdown), 10 passes defended and 27 tackles this season. 

Hayden Hurst (2015-17), Baltimore Ravens TE: Hurst had two catches for 20 yards and played 57 percent of Baltimore’s offensive snaps. Garnet Thor has 18 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown this season.

Melvin Ingram (2009-11), Los Angeles Chargers OLB: Ingram had two sacks, tied for a season high with seven tackles and had a pass defended. He has 4.5 sacks, 25 tackles, seven quarterback hits and a fumble recovery this season. 

Alshon Jeffery (2009-11), Philadelphia Eagles WR: Philadelphia had a bye week. Jeffery, who is questionable to play next week with a left knee injury, has 34 catches for 353 yards and three touchdowns and one rushing touchdown this season.

Johnathan Joseph (2005), Houston Texans CB: Houston had a bye week. Joseph has started five games this season and has 32 tackles and seven passes defended.

Chris Lammons (2014-17), Miami Dolphins DB: A week after he tied for a career high with three tackles, he had one. He played 20 defensive snaps and 21 special teams snaps. He has 10 tackles and two passes defended this season.

Skai Moore (2013-17), Indianapolis Colts LB: Moore had three tackles during the preseason for the Colts and was kept on the team’s practice squad. 

Keisean Nixon (2017-18), Oakland Raiders DB: Nixon was inactive. He has two tackles this season.

Deebo Samuel (2015-18), San Francisco 49ers WR: Samuel started for the fifth time this season and had eight (11 targets) for 112 yards, all career highs. Samuel has 30 catches for 339 yards and a touchdown this season. He also has five rushes for 37 yards and a touchdown. 

Brandon Shell (2012-15), New York Jets OT: After starting three games at right tackle, Shell was bumped out of the starting lineup. He did not play any offensive snaps but played seven snaps on special teams.

Taylor Stallworth (2014-17), New Orleans Saints DT: Stallworth was waived by the Saints during week five but re-signed to the team’s practice squad a few days later.

D.J. Swearinger (2009-12), Arizona Cardinals S: Swearinger has 19 tackles and one pass defended this season.

Darian Stewart (2006-09), Tampa Bay Buccaneers S: Stewart was inactive. He has five tackles this season.
